ONLINE COURSES
I offer small group courses for Hungarian learners at different levels, conducted online via Zoom. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to build conversational confidence, there's a course designed for you. All courses are limited to 8 participants for a personal, supportive learning experience.
My courses don't follow textbooks or rigid lesson plans. Instead the themes are shaped by the students themselves, and the depth of each conversation depends on the group. I always leave room for playful exploration and follow the interests of the learners. My job is to set the stage for natural conversation to flow and to support each student in exploring the language at their own pace.
I have been teaching for many years, and my students come from all ages and backgrounds. I found that traditional classroom teaching doesn't work well for most people, so I trained in Comprehensible Input to offer a more natural path instead. In my experience, this doesn't just help students use the language functionally from day one, it also makes them feel more confident and competent along the way.

Total Beginner Course
Start: January 10th, 2027
The first steps can be hard to figure out. Let me help you build some strong foundations.
No prior knowledge needed, we’ll start from scratch.
We won’t start with the ABC, though, we start by listening to and using simple but complete sentences. I use a Comprehensible Input approach, which means I make sure you understand everything I say. No grammar drills, no memorizing word lists, no being put on the spot before you're ready. We go slow and easy, but we also speak in complete sentences from the get go, and everything we learn is immediately usable in real-life situations.
In my experience, this approach is more helpful for students just starting out than traditional textbooks. But you don’t have to take my word for it, come and see if it works for you!
Here's what we'll cover over six Sundays:
Week 1: Likes and dislikes, simple sentences and basic questions
Week 2: Time words, when you do things
Week 3: Locations, where things are
Week 4: Directions, where things are moving to
Week 5: Conversation practice
Week 6: Review, content decided by the group

Conversation Course
Start: January 10th, 2027
You already have some Hungarian under your belt. Let’s make sure you know how to use it.
Real-life conversation is where a language truly comes alive, and it’s also the hardest skill to master. This course gives you a supportive space to practice natural interaction. Each lesson gives you a little more freedom to express yourself, until you can keep a conversation going even when you don’t know what the next question will be.
Each week we explore a new theme together, but the direction of the actual conversation is always shaped by the group. You'll practice speaking, listening and responding naturally, in a supportive and low-pressure environment. I'll be there to guide, correct and encourage, but the conversation is yours.
This course is ideal for intermediate learners who want to build confidence and prepare for real-life Hungarian interactions, including the citizenship interview.
Here's what we'll cover over six Sundays:
Week 1: Introductions and group discussion
Week 2: Your story, presenting to the group
Week 3: Questions and answers, pair work
Week 4: Big group discussion, extended questions
Week 5: Small group/pair work conversation practice
Week 6: Review, celebration and free discussion

What my students say about the courses
“Listening to people talk in Magyar and have the chance to practice myself is something I could not find easily on, for example, YouTube. It helped me a lot to identify my weaknesses and words I should focus on and watch out for..”
Recent Student“I love how I am more fearless in making errors. In typical language learning classes, I always felt scared to make a mistake. Here, I wanted to challenge myself, because there was no fear of making mistakes! Which I thought was fantastic..”
Current Student“The interactive nature of the course was really great and there was a lot of room to practice new concepts.”
